The Topic Pages
Each Student is responsible for Completing 10 Daily Topic Journal Pages
The page starts as a Black line worksheet. Some pages contain specific directions for you to follow. Other pages require you to decide how to answer the question or solve the problem.
The Visual Journal is about you and about being creative. Push yourself to do the best job you can on each page.
Required Pages:
1. What's in my backpack
A Visual archive of all the things crammed into your backpack. List, draw, collage, and color your backpack and its contents.
2. Go Green!
This page is all about recycling. Show us the ways you personally help save the planet. Make sure you create some of your artwork from recycled materials.
3. I'm Looking forward to....
This page can be about something that is going to happen in the next 10 minutes, 3 months from now, or many years in the future. Choose anything you think is really important -- just make sure this and all pages are school appropriate.
4. What I should have said...
Journals often conatin private moments of reflection like this one. Think back to a moment you said or did something you regret. Pretend there is a magic spell that can redo the moment. What would you say or do instead.
5. The Top 10 Book List
You're the expert. Fill in the list of your favorite books. Save the number one spot for your all-time favorite. Decorate the stack of books to look like the real things. You say you haven't read 10 books? There's no time like the present to start reading more. Check with the other kids in class. I'll bet they have some terrific suggestions.
6. You've got to see this Movie!!
Siskal and Ebert move over. Let us know what you think is the best movie you've ever seen. Put the title and a picture in the movie screen area of the page. Write out the 3 most important things that happen in the movie. Of course no movie is complete without the "goodies". Follow the directions and register your vte for your favorite candy and soft drink.
7. Meeting Someone from History
If you could go back in time and meet one person from History who would it be? Including a picture of this person will get you an extra credit point. Make up a list of questions you would like to ask.
8. My New Year's Resolution
It's that time again. Set a goal for yourself. Remember, the more realistic the goal the more likely you will stick with it.
